We couldn’t do this without the partnership of others giving and praying for our ministry. You have been such an important part or our ministry that without you our ministry couldn’t move forward.
We are grateful for the support that we have, but do need to raise $700 per month in additional support to meet our needs. Would you be in a position to help us by supporting our ministry $100, $200, $300 per month or some other amount?
Giving online is really easy. Once you click “Give Now,” you can choose how much you’d like to give and how frequently. You’ll enter your contact info and choose how you’d like to pay (either electronically through your bank or with a credit card). Your gift is 100% tax deductible.
For some of you, that’s all you need to know. You’ve heard us share about our ministry in Boston and you’re excited to be a part of it. But for others, this may be the first time you’re reading about us. That’s why we’ve included more information below about our ministry to college students in Boston.
Let me tell you more about our ministry in Boston
The students who graduate from school in Boston (at Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Babson, BU, and 40 other top universities) go on to lead the world in every country and every industry.
I think of some of the students we are working with currently who are studying to be nurses, lawyers, and entrepreneurs. Even some of the freshman students are starting businesses.
Can you imagine the impact they could make if they had as the central driving force in their life a relationship with Jesus Christ? Truly the entire world would be changed.
That’s what happened to one of our students, Jocette.
Jocette’s New Walk with Christ
“I’ll never forget the first time I met Jocette,” says Lauren, one of our student leaders. “The moment we began to discuss spirituality, my heart was drawn to her and I knew that this simple coffee date at Panera would be significant.”
Jocette remembers the conversation too: “I remember Lauren saying something about how God loves me for who I am right now and he wants me to be a part of his community forever. It’s almost as if she knew what I was worrying about and what I needed to hear.”
Lauren shared the gospel with Jocette and asked her to join her life group Bible study. The life group was a safe place for Jocette to explore and ask questions. She began to understand the Bible and the basics of the gospel in the context of a community of women who loved her.
Jocette accepted Christ that spring. Lauren said, “I was moved to tears listening to her talk about the Lord because it was so evident that she was falling more and more deeply in love with Him.”
Fast forward two years to today, and the roles have shifted. Jocette is now a junior and is in the exact spot that Lauren was in when she helped Jocette find Christ.
She’s so amazed that God would use her to have spiritual conversations with her friends.
20 Years Experience
Malisa and I bring over 20 years of campus ministry experience to our roles on the Boston Metro team.
I am the Director of Operations for the Boston Metro team. I spend half my time on campus hanging out with college students and the other half of my time helping our team think strategically about reaching the whole city – every one of the 250,000 students on 43 campuses – with the Gospel of Christ.
Malisa helps lead our team of staff and interns reaching Boston University and the Fenway. In the 3 years she has been directing that part of the city, our movement at BU has grown from 6 to 106 and our movement at Simmons College has grown from 1 to 25 students involved.
Together, we’re working to raise up a new generation of students whose lives are so radically transformed by the gospel that they can’t help but share Christ with others and take others to do the same.
We want every student on every campus in Boston to hear the gospel in the most personal way.
We long for the day when on every campus, on every dorm floor, in every sorority or fraternity, and on every sports team, there are students whose lives are so transformed by the Holy Spirit that they can’t help but tell other people about Jesus and take other people to do the same.
As we think about strategy and tactics, we know that reaching freshman is key – like a winning football program – we want to recruit the right freshmen (by meeting with them and sharing the gospel) so that we build strong classes of sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
That strategy is paying off.
- In the last five years, we’ve had a 91% increase in students attending our Fall Retreat –up to 296 this year – including 6 who became Christians that weekend!
- 92 students learned to share their faith at Big Break – more than ever
- 45 students went on a Summer Project last year – an all time high
- 569 students are involved in Real Life on their campus – the most in years
- Over 200 freshmen are in life groups – the highest since we’ve been counting
It’s not about the numbers. It’s about changed lives. Lives like Jocette’s, Malisa’s, and mine. Lives like yours.

We can’t do it alone
We have seen God take broken hearts both here and overseas and heal them with His love and grace. We have seen students begin to consider Christ as truth and then accept Him with all their heart. Our heart is that through evangelism and discipleship God will continue to use us to show students the truth of Christ and encourage them to live a passionate and authentic life for Him. If you want to read some of our recent monthly prayer letters that share some of these stories, click here.
We spend our days meeting with these future world-changers, joining them on their spiritual journeys and pointing them toward Jesus Christ. But we can’t do it alone. So we work to empower students as leaders to partner with us in our movements of evangelism and discipleship. We also need partners like you to pray and give financially to this vital work.
